Moving Items between Models

Overview

In the event you need to move items between a model, there is a very simple process that exists to make this possible.

This feature is only possible when updating item models within the same manufacturer.

Steps

1. Start by navigating to the Settings page of the Inventory module using the left-hand navigation bar, and then select the Models tab.
2. Click on the Ellipsis menus associated with any item. Then, select Transfer Items.
3. Select the current model's Manufacturer and the associated Model. In the lower half, select the new model you’d like to move the inventory to.
4. Select Next, and you’ll be prompted to match up the identifiers here. Once completed, select Next.
5. Here, you will need to upload a CSV of the items you want to move. There is a specific template that you will have to follow in order for the CSV to be accepted. If you’re unsure of the template, you can download it by clicking the CSV Template button.
6. Once the CSV finishes uploading, you will be able to review the operation before committing. It’ll mention how many items are being moved, between which two models they’re being moved, and the identifiers moving with them.
7. If everything makes sense, go ahead and hit Confirm!

And just like that, you’ve moved inventory items between two models!
