Adjusting Available Dates for Activation

Overview

In this article, we will be reviewing how to adjust the available activation dates your customers can choose from when they register from the checkout.

What is an activation date?

An activation date is defined as the day that the customer will be activated or have their services installed at their physical address. This can either be done by having the customer provide you with their preferred activation date, or by having a Work Order generated for the customer’s registration and then manually scheduling, or auto-scheduling, a technician.

How to adjust the Activation Dates

To be able to adjust the available activation dates, you’ll first have to configure the settings to allow that. To do this, navigate to the Checkout section of the Admin Settings. Once there, scroll down to Activation Settings. You’ll want to press Enable customers to choose their preferred activation date. Once you do that, you’ll see the Booking Configuration fields appear.

The first field denotes the minimum advance time, in days, required for the customer to choose their preferred activation date. This generally goes hand in hand with the availability of the technicians.

Example: If you set this field value to 2, customers won’t be able to choose a preferred activation until 3 days from their date of registration.

The second field denotes the furthest amount of time, in days, that a customer can choose their preferred activation date. This allows customers to request a preferred activation date in the future (e.g., if they’re moving into a new residence).

Example: If you set this field value to 60, they will only be able to choose a preferred activation date up to 60 days from their date of registration.

The last section here asks whether or not you want to allow for weekend bookings. If the technicians you use do not work on the weekends, then this is not recommended. If toggled, the above rules will still apply.

How to adjust the available days of the week for preferred activation

While it’s possible to adjust how far out and how soon a customer can select their preferred activation date, it is not currently possible to exclude any dates within the Checkout section.
