Bundles

Overview

Bundles allow you to group products so they’re always sold together. They automatically impact both the checkout and manual account creation flows when configured.

Bundles are flexible and support many use cases—beyond just promotional offers. They’re ideal for:

  • Offering product combinations (e.g. Internet + Voice)
  • Automatically applying activation or access fees when subscribing to plans

Parts of a bundle

Each bundle consists of two elements:

Customer-selections

  • Product versions selected by the customer
  • Define the conditions that make the bundle eligible
  • Must be selected in the checkout/manual account creation form to trigger the bundle

Bundle additions

  • Product versions added automatically when the conditions are met
  • These are included silently in the order and do not require customer input

Bundle eligibility

To be applied during checkout, a bundle must meet the following:

  • The bundle and all products it contains must be available at the subscriber’s address
  • All customer-selections must be present in the order

When multiple bundles are eligible, only the most specific one will be applied. If two eligible bundles have the same specificity, none will be applied—this is considered a bundle conflict.

Creating a bundle

  1. Go to Products → Bundles
  2. Click New bundle
  3. Enter an internal name and optional description
  4. Select a currency
  5. Add at least one Customer Selection product
  6. Add at least one Bundle Addition product
  7. (Optional) Assign the bundle to a specific coverage area
Only products and discounts can be added. If you need to apply a fee, create it as a normal product - not as a fee.

Coverage area

Bundles can be assigned to a specific coverage area, just like individual products. This step is optional—but reuired to be usable.

  • If you create a bundle without assigning it to a coverage area, it will never be considered eligible in the checkout.
  • Assigning a coverage area is necessary to make the bundle available to subscribers.
  • The subscriber’s address must fall within both the product’s and the bundle’s coverage area for it to be eligible.
  • This configuration is useful when targeting a smaller region (for the bundle) within a larger one (for the product).

Example: A bundle contains an Internet plan and a discount. Both products are available across the US, but the bundle should only be available in a specific state.

Important information and current limitations

This is the first version of the bundle, and many improvements will be made. Please note the current possibilities with the freshly released feature.

  • Bundles cannot be edited. To change a bundle, create a new one.
  • Bundles are based on specific product versions. If the version is not primary, the bundle will not be available in the checkout.
  • Percentage-based discounts are not supported. Only fixed-amount discounts can be added to bundles.
  • To use a recurring fee, create it as a normal product. Recurring “Fee” objects are not currently supported in bundles.
  • In the Products → Bundles list, the Available status means the bundle is active in checkout.
