Overview
Smarty is an advanced address search API designed for U.S. addresses. The primary use will be to assist with auto-completing addresses during checkout. This article explains how to install and configure the Smarty integration within gaiia.
Before you start
- If you don’t already have a Smarty account, create one at smarty.com/login.

From the Subscriptions tab in your Smarty account, make sure the following services are active:
- US Address Verification
- US Address Autocomplete
We recommend enabling auto-renewal on both subscriptions to avoid service interruption.
Installing the Smarty integration in gaiia
- In gaiia, go to the App Directory (
Settings > Integrations > App Directory) and install the Smarty integration. -
During installation, you’ll be asked to enter your Auth ID and Auth Token. You can find both in the Secret Keys section under the API Keys tab in your Smarty dashboard.
Validating the integration
- Go to your checkout page in gaiia and try searching for any U.S. address.
- Open your Smarty dashboard and confirm that you’re seeing usage activity.
