Overview
gaiia allows you to control whether a promo code can be used together with a referral code during checkout.
When enabled, customers can apply both codes at the same time, and each discount is displayed separately in the order summary.
Understand how the setting works
Each promo code includes an Eligibility conditions section with a setting that controls whether it can be combined with a referral code.
- Enabled — Customers can apply both a promo code and a referral code. Each discount appears separately in the order summary.
- Disabled (default) — Customers can use either a promo code or a referral code, but not both.
This setting applies to new orders only. Existing orders are not affected.
Configure the setting on a promo code
Follow these steps to enable or disable referral code stacking:
- Go to Products > Promo codes.
- Create a new code using
+ New Code, or open an existing promo code. - In Eligibility conditions, check or uncheck Allow promo code(s) to be applied with a referral code in checkout.
- Review the Details panel to confirm your configuration.
- Click
Create promo codeorSave.
Editing an existing promo code invalidates its previous version. If you need to preserve the original code, create a new one instead.
How it works in checkout
When stacking is enabled, customers can apply both a promo code and a referral code during checkout, in any order.
Each code and its associated discount are displayed separately in the order summary.
If stacking is disabled, checkout restricts customers to using only one code type.
Apply this setting in bulk
This setting is managed individually for each promo code.
