Pre-release preview · prepared 2026-04-30

Here's a preview of what's lining up at gaiia. This release leans on more billing flexibility — new APIs for debits and manual invoices, plus richer detail in the mass payment tool — and continues the design refresh of the platform. Workflows gain a Paste to Replace action, network sites get user-defined statuses, custom objects get CSV import/export, and tickets can now attach to business accounts.

User interface

Refreshed buttons across gaiiaExpected: Releasing May 4
Buttons across gaiia will be migrated to the new design system for a cleaner, more consistent look and feel.

New top navigation: global breadcrumbs and nav buttonsExpected: Coming soon
A big navigation upgrade: a global breadcrumb plus refreshed back/forward navigation buttons at the top of the application, making it easier to keep track of where you are and to move between screens.

Toggles converted to Checkboxes in formsExpected: Coming soon
Toggles that were used to represent boolean values in form contexts will be replaced with checkboxes. Toggles will continue to be used for immediate actions on the application.

Accounts

PIN Verification: SMS preference overrideExpected: Releasing May 4
Users will be able to send a verification PIN by SMS even when a customer has SMS preferences turned off, with a confirmation step to ensure the customer explicitly requested it. API consumers (chatbots, IVR systems) can bypass the preference entirely when customer-driven PIN verification is enabled. Behind a feature flag — opt-in.

Billing

New billing APIsExpected: Releasing May 4
Two new endpoints: create a debit on an account for a custom amount, and generate a manual invoice for any uninvoiced debits on the account.

More detail in the mass payment toolExpected: Releasing May 4
The mass payment tool will surface additional details to make reconciling easier when applying many payments at once.

Avalara tax handling on voided invoicesExpected: Releasing May 4
Bug fix: when an invoice was voided, Avalara was not always offsetting the original tax amount in full. Voids will now correctly reverse the full tax.

Checkout

Editable plan titles in order summary and confirmationExpected: Releasing May 4
Plan category titles (e.g. "Residential phone" → "Voice") are already editable on the main checkout screens. They'll now be editable in the order summary and order confirmation as well.

Add-on order in summary matches the checkout display orderExpected: Releasing May 4
Add-ons in the order summary currently sort by price. They'll now appear in the same order as the add-on groups in the checkout flow, so the summary mirrors what your customers saw.

Inventory

Custom Object records: CSV import/exportExpected: Releasing May 4
Custom Object records will support CSV import and export, plus a downloadable template — making it much faster to bulk-load data into custom objects.

Network

Custom Status for Network sitesExpected: Releasing May 4
Users will be able to assign lifecycle statuses to network sites (e.g. "Stage 1", "On Air", "Under Outage"), grouped under stable categories — Staging, Active, Inactive — that future workflow automation can build on.

Calix Cloud integrationsExpected: Coming soon
Deeper integration with Calix Cloud is coming together — expanding the network management workflows that gaiia can drive directly from Calix data.

NetBox as an external source of truthExpected: Coming soon
NetBox can be used as gaiia's external source of truth for network data, keeping inventory and topology in sync with the system your network team already uses.

Tickets

External tickets and comments on Business AccountsExpected: Releasing May 4
Tickets will be able to attach to Business Accounts, and users will be able to send external comments on them — matching the existing residential account experience for B2B support workflows.

Workflows

Paste to ReplaceExpected: Releasing May 4carried over
A new "Paste to replace" action in the node three-dot menu (⌘ ⇧ V on Mac, Ctrl + Shift + V on Windows) lets you swap out a node in place. Keyboard shortcuts will also be shown inline for all node actions: Copy, Paste below, Paste to replace, Duplicate, Delete.

5 MB workflow output limit removedExpected: Releasing May 4
Workflow execution payloads that exceed the previous size threshold will now be offloaded to S3 transparently, removing the 5 MB GraphQL response limit on large outputs. No change to how you build or run workflows.

Workforce

Custom Work Order Statuses — Phase 2Expected: Releasing May 4
Custom statuses will now appear on global search cards. The API gains a new statusCategory input on v1 create/update and a customStatus filter, while the old status fields are deprecated and the new ones are now visible.

Create Work Orders from within a TicketExpected: Coming soon
Users will be able to create work orders directly from a ticket, without bouncing between modules — closing the loop between support requests and field work.
