Setting Checkout Display Order for Products

Overview

The checkoutDisplayOrder spec controls the position of a product's plan card within the checkout flow. By assigning a number to each product, you can define the exact order in which plan cards appear to customers on each individual product selection page (e.g. the internet plan selection page, the mobile plan selection page) — from top to bottom.

This article covers two steps: adding the checkoutDisplayOrder spec to a Product Category, then setting its value on individual products.

 

A. Adding the spec to a Product Category

Before setting display order values on individual products, the checkoutDisplayOrder spec must be added to the relevant Product Category.

  1. In the gaiia app, go to Products > Settings.
  2. On the Categories tab and click into the Product Category you want to update.
  3. Click the pencil icon to edit the category.
  4. Click + Add spec and fill in the following fields:
    1. Field name: checkoutDisplayOrder
    2. Field type: Number


       
  5. Click Submit to save your changes.

 

B. Setting the spec value on a Product

Once the spec has been added to a Product Category, set its value on each product you want to sequence in checkout. Only products belonging to a category where checkoutDisplayOrder has been added will have this field available.

  1. In the gaiia app, go to Products.
  2. Select the product you want to update.
  3. In the Product Details panel on the right, click the pencil icon to edit the product.
  4. Scroll to the Specs section and find the checkoutDisplayOrder field.
  5. Enter a number to set this product's position on the checkout page, relative to other products.

    For example, entering 3 places this product's plan card third from the top.

  6. Submit your changes.
