Configuring add-on visibility by plan screen

Overview

gaiia lets you surface Add-On Groups directly on a checkout plan screen, such as Internet, Mobile, Voice, or TV, instead of grouping every add-on on a single, later Add-ons page. This makes it easier for customers to see relevant add-ons, like mesh extenders or home security, in the context of the plan they are choosing.

This article explains how to enable an Add-On Group on a plan screen, and how to scope an add-on to a single plan using a dependent relationship.

How it works

When an Add-On Group is enabled on a plan screen, customers see that add-on as soon as they select a plan on that screen, instead of navigating forward to a separate Add-ons page later in checkout.

Add-On Groups can be surfaced in two ways:

  1. For an entire plan category, so the add-on appears no matter which plan on that screen the customer selects.
  2. For a single plan only, using a dependent relationship, so the add-on only appears when that specific plan is selected.

Checkout Settings can only be edited by users with the appropriate permission enabled. Contact your gaiia representative if you don't see these settings.

Follow these steps to surface an Add-On Group on a plan screen:

  1. In gaiia web, go to Checkout Settings.
  2. Find the plan screen you want to configure (for example, Internet).
  3. Under Selection Settings, enable the option to show an add-on group on that plan page.
  4. Select the relevant Add-On Group (for example, Home Security).
  5. Click Save.

Once saved, refresh checkout to see the change. Selecting a plan on that screen will surface the configured add-on group directly beneath it.
