Overview

This release note is heavy on things that save a step: work order durations that correct themselves, addresses that resolve down to the unit, search that finds a node or a ticket without browsing for it, and integrations that document themselves inside the platform. A few items announced for last week slipped and are repeated here. Here is a preview of what's coming so you can prepare.

User interface

Refreshed alerts and information boxes Expected: Releasing August 17th
The coloured information, warning, and error boxes inside gaiia move onto the refreshed gaiia design system, with clearer colours and spacing. The look changes; what they tell you and when they appear does not.

Refreshed confirmation messages Expected: Coming soon
The brief messages that appear after an action — saving a record, applying a bulk change — move onto the same refreshed design system, in both gaiia and the client portal.

Addresses

Update a full unit address through the v1 API Expected: Releasing August 17th
The v1 API can now update the complete address on a unit rather than a subset of fields, which makes bulk address cleanup and unit uploads much less awkward. This is an additive change — existing calls keep working.

Billing

ACH at checkout with every payment processor Expected: Releasing August 17th
ACH becomes available at checkout no matter which payment processor you run.

Checkout

Gradient option for the checkout progress bar Expected: Releasing August 17th
The progress bar at the top of checkout can use a horizontal gradient as well as a solid fill, so it can be matched more closely to your brand.

Change the plan selection from anywhere in checkout Expected: Releasing August 17th
An "Edit plan selection" control lets customers go back to the shop-by-service panel from later steps in checkout, including from the prompt asking them to select at least one service. Fewer restarts when someone changes their mind midway.

Inventory

Assign and move consumables and non-serialized inventory Expected: Releasing August 17th
Consumables and other items tracked by quantity rather than serial number can be assigned to accounts and network sites, and moved between locations the same way serialized inventory is.

Network

In-product documentation for every integration Expected: Releasing August 17th
Each integration gets a page inside gaiia setting out what it actually supports, so you can check an integration's capabilities without leaving the platform or asking us.

Export the tickets on an incident to CSV Expected: Releasing August 17th
The tickets tab on an incident in Incident Manager gains a CSV export, so the list of tickets raised against an outage can be handed to whoever needs it.

Dropdown options on network site custom fields Expected: Releasing August 17th
Custom fields on network sites can now offer a dropdown of options you define — a Tower Owner field with a fixed list of owners, for instance — instead of free text.

Search

Small improvements to search Expected: Releasing August 17th
Search results highlight the match in a ticket's ID and title, commercial accounts are labelled correctly in the search bar results, long work order names no longer overflow their row, and the archived addresses table gets its own search bar.

Tickets

Assign tickets to teams Expected: Coming soon
Tickets can be owned by a team rather than only an individual, making it easier to route work to the right group and see what each team is responsible for.

Workflows

Search the workflow node library Expected: Releasing August 17th
Find a node by typing instead of browsing the full catalogue. Search matches node names, descriptions, and input and output fields, scoped to whichever folder you have open.

Dropdown fields work inside repeatable lists and grouped fields Expected: Releasing August 17th
A field that should offer a dropdown now renders as one when it sits inside a repeatable list or a grouped field, instead of falling back to a plain text box.

Workforce

Work order duration shortens itself when a technician finishes early Expected: Releasing August 17th
For the work order categories you opt in to under Workforce > Settings > General, a work order's duration is trimmed to the technician's actual completion time when they finish ahead of the estimate. The freed-up time goes back to the schedule for more bookings, with nobody having to adjust it by hand.

Pick a unit when setting a work order address Expected: Releasing August 17th
Address lookup on a work order can now resolve a specific unit — an apartment or a suite — when you create a work order without an account, or change the service location on one that has an account. Work orders that take their service location from an existing account are unaffected.

En route tracking when the Field Service App has no signal Expected: Coming soon
Drive time is tracked even where a technician has no data signal, and the en route message to the customer goes out once the app is back in range. This arrives through an app store update.

How we use these release notes

These notes represent a projection of upcoming changes over the next few weeks. Timelines may vary, and details may evolve. We may also update this article with additional information once features are fully released. Note that we only share changes that have a visible impact on the platform — many more improvements ship behind the scenes without appearing in the release notes, whether that's toward stability, performance (such as loading times), or security.
