Overview
The headline this time is checkout: the screens that follow plan selection collapse into a single page, and TV plans, multi-unit add-ons, and your own address suggestions arrive alongside it. Workflows gain a schedule builder that writes the CRON expression for you, and input forms that can show, hide, and validate fields conditionally. The move onto the new Analytics experience reaches the organizations still on the legacy dashboards and reports. This is a preview of what is coming so you can prepare.
Analytics
The new Analytics experience reaches the remaining organizations Expected: Coming soon
Organizations still working in the legacy dashboards and reports are getting access to the new Analytics experience. The legacy dashboards and reports are due to be decommissioned on September 30th, so this is the step that gets everyone onto the version that stays.
Billing and accounting reports fill in their missing views Expected: Coming soon
The billing and accounting report categories get the report views that were still missing after the move to the new Analytics experience, so those categories match what you had before.
Billing
Backdate a proration or a cancellation Expected: Releasing September 8th
Prorations can be given a backdated effective date directly in the interface, and an individual subscription can be cancelled with a backdated date.
Percentage fees and discounts accept decimals Expected: Releasing September 8th
Percentage-based fees and discounts take decimal values, so a rate like 7.5% no longer has to be rounded to a whole number.
Subscription items show the phone number they belong to Expected: Releasing September 8th
Subscription items tied to a phone number (DID) now show which number they belong to, so a voice subscription can be read without cross-referencing.
Checkout
TV plans in checkout Expected: Releasing September 8th
Customers can select a TV plan in checkout, so television service can be ordered through the same flow as your other services.
Buy more than one of an add-on or router Expected: Releasing September 8th
Customers can choose a quantity for add-on products and routers in checkout instead of being limited to one of each.
Address suggestions driven by a workflow Expected: Releasing September 8th
Address autocomplete in checkout can be powered by a workflow of your own, so suggestions can be drawn from your own address data rather than only the built-in provider.
Conversations
A new conversation is titled after its recipient Expected: Releasing September 8th
Starting a new conversation gives it a default title based on the recipient you selected, rather than a generic one you then have to rename.
Inventory
Assign users to an inventory location or zone Expected: Releasing September 8th
Users can be attached to an inventory location or zone, both when the location is created or edited and from the zone list, which is the first step toward a personal view of the stock you are responsible for, such as what is currently in your truck.
Network
Start a workflow from a network site Expected: Releasing September 8th
A network site can be used as the trigger object when building a workflow, and the network site page gains a Workflows tab for starting and following those runs. It suits jobs scoped to a site, such as running a diagnostic across the devices connected to a tower.
Search
Clearer results in the search bar Expected: Releasing September 8th
The search bar gets a refreshed result list with the matching text highlighted, so it is easier to see why each result came back.
Tickets
Set the owning team on a ticket template Expected: Releasing September 8th
Ticket templates gain a Team field, so a template can pre-set the team that will own the tickets it creates. This follows the team assignment that arrived on tickets themselves.
Workflows
Build a schedule without writing CRON Expected: Releasing September 8th
Scheduled triggers gain a builder that writes the CRON expression for you, along with a Timezone field so a schedule stays anchored to local time through Daylight Saving Time changes. It lands ahead of this autumn's change.
Conditional fields and custom validation on trigger input forms Expected: Releasing September 8th
A workflow's trigger input schema can show, hide, and require a field based on another field's value, enforce length and pattern rules, and show your own error message instead of a generic schema error.
See which branch a condition took Expected: Releasing September 8th
In execution history, the label on the branch that actually ran stays at full opacity while the others grey out, so the path a workflow took is readable at a glance.
Export a workflow diagram as an image Expected: Releasing September 8th
The graph view of any workflow can be exported as a PNG in one click, which makes a workflow easy to drop into a document or a review. More details in the article: Exporting a workflow diagram as an image
Close all tabs at once Expected: Coming soon
Unused tabs can be closed in bulk rather than one at a time, and unsaved changes across the batch are confirmed once instead of tab by tab.
Workforce
Scan equipment without picking a make and model first Expected: Releasing September 8th
The equipment scanner in the Field Service Technician App can be opened straight from the search-by-identifier flow, so there is no longer a make and model to choose before scanning. The rebuilt scanner is also faster and can use the phone's flash in low light.
A refreshed look in the Field Service Technician App Expected: Releasing September 8th
The first set of refreshed interface components — callouts, snackbars, checkboxes, and tags — arrives in the Field Service Technician App, bringing it closer to the look of the rest of gaiia. It reaches technicians as an over-the-air update, with nothing to install from the app store.
The work order side column reaches everyone else Expected: Releasing September 8th
The right-hand column on work orders, which reached a first group of organizations on August 31st, arrives for everyone else with this release. It holds the details technicians and dispatchers reach for most, including status, priority, vendor, work date, technician assignment, service location, and duration.
How we use these release notes
These notes represent a projection of upcoming changes over the next few weeks. Timelines may vary, and details may evolve. We may also update this article with additional information once features are fully released. Note that we only share changes that have a visible impact on the platform — many more improvements ship behind the scenes without appearing in the release notes, whether to stability, performance (such as loading times), or security.
