Overview
Customers can now buy more than one unit of the same add-on or router in checkout, such as three mesh extenders. Before, you had to create a separate product for each quantity (for example, "1 mesh extender", "2 mesh extenders") and show all of them in checkout. Now one product with a quantity selector covers every quantity.
This article covers how to turn on multi-unit purchasing for add-ons and routers, what customers see in checkout, and where quantities appear after the order.
Multi-unit purchasing is off by default. Products you don't change keep working as they do today: one unit, no quantity selector.

What customers see in checkout
When multi-unit purchasing is on, the product tile shows a quantity selector. Customers click + or − to change the number of units, up to the maximum you set.
- The price on the tile and in the Order summary is the quantity multiplied by the unit price.
- All units of a product appear as one line item with a quantity, not as separate line items. This applies to checkout, the order confirmation, and receipts.
- If the plan already includes units of the product, the tile shows a badge such as "1 unit included with plan". Customers pay only for the additional units, shown as 1 additional × [unit price].
Viewing quantities after the order
- In gaiia, the order details summary shows the quantity of each product.
- In the client portal, the Service plans page shows a quantity badge on any router or add-on card where the account has more than one unit.
Customers can't currently make multi-unit purchases from the client portal.
Good to know
- Turning on multi-unit purchasing doesn't affect existing carts, orders in progress, or completed orders.
- If you created separate products for each quantity, you can replace them with one product that allows multiple units.
