Overview

This section allows you to configure how orders are processed once they’re placed through checkout.

In this article, we’ll cover how gaiia creates follow-up tickets for new orders, how to apply a universal activation fee, and how to require customers to accept your terms and conditions at checkout.

Configuring ticketing

For every new order placed using the checkout, a ticket is also created in the Tickets module. This ticket serves as a reminder to review the new order and follow up with the customer if necessary. The follow-up ticket contains a very brief summary of the order contents and next actions. In this section, you can configure how order follow-up tickets are created.

Ticket visibility

  • Internal → The ticket can only be accessed by authenticated gaiia users.
  • External → The ticket can be accessed by external users, such as customers, via email or the portal.

Ticket type

Select the ticket type to be used for newly created tickets. Ticket types can be managed from Tickets > Settings > Types.

Ticket category

Select the ticket category to assign to newly created tickets. Ticket categories can be managed from Tickets > Settings > Categories.

Assign to user(s) (optional)

Select which user(s) should be automatically assigned to newly created tickets. Users selected here will be instantly notified of new order follow-up tickets.

Applying an activation fee

Use this setting to apply a fee to all orders being placed via the checkout. This fee will be applied to all orders, regardless of the order contents.

If you prefer to apply fees based on specific criteria (such as products or coverage areas), we recommend using Bundles instead.

Requiring terms and conditions

This field lets you display your terms and conditions and require checkout users to agree to them before placing an order. The terms are shown at the bottom of the Review Order step. When enabled, users must accept these terms to complete their order.

You must enter a public URL that points to a PDF file. This PDF will be embedded in a modal window, allowing users to read it directly within the checkout. Users can also download the PDF or open it in a new tab.

If the URL field is empty, the Terms and Conditions section will not appear and user agreement will not be required.
