The Order Attribution module allows you to track which campaigns, agents, or external partners are driving completed sales in gaiia. You can associate URL parameters and promo codes with specific attribution profiles and monitor their performance directly from the platform.

Understanding attribution profiles

An attribution profile represents a marketing effort responsible for generating sales. A single attribution profile can represent one or more of the following:

  • A campaign (e.g., Back to School, Black Friday)

  • An advertisement (e.g., Facebook ad, Google ad, newspaper listing)

  • An individual (e.g., inside sales rep, outside sales rep, property group manager, customer service representative)

This flexibility allows attribution profiles to reflect the different channels and contributors that influence a sale. Each attribution profile can include URL parameters and promo codes, allowing you to measure performance across different acquisition channels.

Creating an attribution profile

Follow these steps to create a new attribution profile.

  1. Navigate to the Order Attribution module.
  2. Click on the Create button.
  3. Select an attribution type (e.g., Campaign, Sales agent, External partner).
  4. Enter a name for the profile (e.g., Back to School, Black Friday).
  5. Add URL parameters as needed.
  6. Add promo codes if applicable.
  7. Click Save.

Once saved, the profile will begin tracking associated orders as data comes in.

Using URL parameters

URL parameters allow you to associate traffic from specific sources with an attribution profile.

You can use URL parameters to:

  • Track sales agents using White Label Checkout links.
  • Track digital ads (e.g., Facebook, Instagram).
  • Associate traffic from external campaigns with completed orders.

You can attach as many URL parameters as needed to a single attribution profile. Learn more about sales attribution via URL parameters here

Using promo codes

Promo codes can also be linked to an attribution profile to measure offline and field marketing efforts.

Common use cases include:

  • Mailers and printed materials.
  • Billboards.
  • Door-to-door sales teams entering unique codes during checkout.

Any order completed using the associated promo code will be attributed to that profile. Learn more about promo codes in gaiia here

Reviewing attribution performance

Once orders are attributed, the module displays:

  • Number of completed orders.
  • Number of abandoned orders.
  • Associated URL parameters.
  • Associated promo codes.

You can click into a profile to view detailed information about completed and abandoned orders.

You can also export the data if you need to manipulate or analyze it outside of gaiia.

Viewing attribution on the Order Summary page

When a customer completes checkout, the automatically generated Order Summary page includes an attribution field.

This field displays the associated attribution profile (e.g., campaign or sales agent), allowing your team to quickly identify which marketing effort generated the order.

This makes it easier to review new orders and understand performance across acquisition channels.
